I’m Denise — a certified EC-6, Science of Teaching Reading, and ESL educator with more than ten years of experience helping young learners grow into confident, capable readers. After a decade in public education, I recently retired and will soon begin teaching Kindergarten at a private classical school in Dallas. My passion for early learning is what inspired me to begin offering in home tutoring as well.

I have a special heart for emerging readers, especially elementary students who have gaps in foundational skills that make reading feel harder than it should. These gaps can affect fluency, comprehension, and confidence — and I love helping children overcome them.

My approach is warm, patient, and highly individualized. I take time to understand each child’s strengths, challenges, and learning style so I can tailor instruction that truly meets their needs. Using research based strategies and a calm, encouraging environment, I help students rebuild their foundation, experience success, and rediscover the joy in reading.

My goal is simple: to meet students exactly where they are and guide them toward meaningful, lasting progress — both academically and in their confidence as learners.
